LONG BEACH - 24 June 2018 - The Angel Saving Lives Foundation (TASLF), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent underage drinking, announces that its mission is supported by the Long Beach Police Department as a positive force supporting the elimination of underage drinking. The Long Beach Police Department sees TASLF’s goal as a contribution to public safety.
“Alcohol consumption by minors is a problem that affects our community. TASLF is working to intervene in the decisions made by young people, to avoid consuming alcohol and seeking a better life. The Long Beach Police Department supports their efforts to protect our youth.”
“I have suffered tragic consequences as a result of my decision to begin drinking at a very early age,” said German Angel, President of the Foundation. “I’ve been very fortunate in my ability to pull myself out of that lifestyle, and now I see an opportunity to help others stay out of it altogether.”
TASLF actively develops programs
TASLF actively develops programs that provide young people an alternative to the drinking lifestyle. TASLF is currently putting together an art contest to be held at several area schools this autumn, with the theme “Why underage drinking is not cool.” The art contest will provide a creative outlet for students who wish to contribute to TASLF’s cause and help spread the news about the downside of underage drinking.
